2016 Subaru WRX – Install, Maintenance & Calibration

2016 Subaru WRX – Install, Maintenance & Calibration

Good day guys here again with another project that we have concluded the install on some goodies. Unfortunately because of the COVID19 epidemic we are not going to be putting this vehicle on the rollers just yet. Waiting on this pandemic to subside and then get back to calibration sessions.

With that said here are the list of items that were install on this ’16 WRX:
DBA T2 street rotors / Hawk pads / Grimmspeed EBCS / GS JPipe
GS TMIC / GS Stealth Intake / IAG Performance AOS / IAG TGV full kit
Invidia single CBE / Amsoil motor & Diff change / OEM subaru Trans. change / NGK spark plugs / Torque Solution EGR kit / Induction service

Some of the goodies for this install.
Rear OEM Rotor
Front OEM Rotor
DBA vs OEM
Grimmspeed JPipe
Preparation to install the IAG TGV deletes

Car is purring like a kitten and that Invidia Single CBE is doing the business and sounding very nice. We can not wait to get this vehicle on the rollers after all this virus stuff dies down and see what these parts on this build yields us. So for now a few street datalog session to make sure all is in order and stay tuned.

Dyno Dynamics before and after the install of items and Protune.
Dyno Jet comparison number, WHP and boost of the final numbers. Calibration was done in fourth gear.

2019 Subaru WRX – Install & calibration

Its been a busy week of Subarus coming steady in the shop for calibration or installations of aftermarket parts. This vehicle was one of the last cars we worked on before the COVID19 pandemic hit the world.
Apart from another subaru, this one was also another military personnel that we had a pleasure in working with. His car was going to be involved in a car show that was going to be held at NOLA Motorsports, but because of the pandemic that was also canceled.
In any case parts came in for the install, so we proceeded to do the install on them as scheduled.

Here is the list of items that were installed on this vehicle:
Nameless CBE / Grimmspeed Jpipe & EBCS / Torque Solution EGR kit
IAG AOS & TGV full kit / Cobb Accessport v3 / KillerB header / GFB BOV

Torque Solution EGR delete kit
IAG Full TGV delete kit & seals
IAG TGV Ful delete kit vs OEM
Out with the OEM header and exhaust components
Killer B Motorsports Header
Killer B vs OEM
OEM 2port ebcs vs Grimmspeed 3port ebcs
GFB BOV
OEM vs GFB BOV
Nameless Performance CBE
Nameless Performance vs OEM
Grimmspeed Jpipe vs OEM

One major lesson that we found out on this install and calibration was that when ever you going to do this you better set aside some money for a good TMIC if not the power in the back end is not going to be available.
Another take away is that the Killer B header really shine and was able to bring the engine to full boost way sooner and low end torque was really elevated because of it.
Will post dyno charts when I get back to the shop to extract them from the dyno

2017 Subaru STi – RevWorks

Got a client that needed some help on this locked motor.
In came RevWorks Inc. short block

Arrival day.
After we finally received the RevWorks RW750 for this build we proceeded to tearing
the motor out of the vehicle and cracking it open to see the carnage.
The exhaust side on the driver’s side head was the leading culprit here.
Valves bent as well.
Exhaust camshafts not looking to well either.
OEM and aftermarket items needed for the build started arriving.
Assembling begins with the passenger side head as the other head will need to be worked on since new parts were order from Subaru to replace the damaged head.
New driver side head being assembled with new valves and buckets.
Old on the left , new one is on the right side.
Killer B oil pick and windage tray were installed and oil pan back in its spot.
Amsoil oil filter ready for the break in procedure.
Amsoil front and center on this build.
Outfront Motorsports were involved in helping rebuild the AVCS for this and all the EJ builds we do at the shop.
Amsoil Break-In oil is now in the engine and car has been delivered to the client.
500 miles and we will see this vehicle again to place the Amsoil Signature series oil
and proceed with obtaining the power out of this engine. Stay Tuned!

2015 Subaru WRX – Install and Calibration

Received this 2015 Subaru WRX that the client wanted to add some items to take the vehicle to stage2 status.
Client dropped it off to install a Invidia JPipe, Mishimoto Intake, Torque Solution EGR delete kit and finally a Cobb Tuning Accessport.

Here are the pics from the installation of the Jpipe and Intake as we are waiting for the EGR delete kit to arrive this week from the distributor.

The JPipe was a PITA as always one runs a chance of stripping or breaking one of the bolts that hold the oem JPipe to the turbo.

Cobb Tuning Accessport has been added to the mix and car is loaded on the rollers awaiting the EGR delete kit to arrive and then tuning session will begin.
