2018 Subaru WRX

2018 Subaru WRX

Just another week in paradise and this time were we tasked with a little maintenance, cleaning and modding. This engine desperately needed some deep cleaning and with these FA20DIT engine, they tend to clog up pretty quick.
We suggested some walnut blasting to the valve areas and deep cleaning to the intake manifold, throttle body and lower tumbler areas.

In the end we were pleasantly surprised as well as the client on how responsive the engine is and the added torque from the upgrades, cleaning and calibration made a huge difference.
Graphs above are at 20psi in 4th gear and the ambient temps on the day were 67F, 45% humidity and 30.13 baro.

2013 Subaru WRX – IAG + APV3 calibration

On a hot summer day in the beginning of June we had the pleasure of tuning this Subaru WRX.  This WRX came from another region of the nation and needed to be calibrated for our swamp weather here in the deep south.
Ambient conditions on the day got up to 103F, at the time we ended up finishing the tune we were blessed with ambient temps dropping to 93F 56% and 30.03

The mods that were present on this vehicle we some very good ones:
IAG stage2.5 bottom end, ported head, Kelford 268cams, Garrett GT35R, Front Mount Intercooler, TGV deletes, ID1000cc, DW350lph fuel pump, Cobb APV3 and Turbo back exhaust.
Shell 93oct was used and peak PSI was reached to 21.5psi

Got to say that we got some decent power output especially since it was a miserable hot day at the shop.  Took it out of the shop in the evening, tested the vehicle on the highway and made sure that the KO and DAM were acting accordingly as it was doing in the dyno.
Special thanks to Brock for trusting us with this nice project.

2005 Subaru WRX – Costa Rica tuning

Talking to an associate of mine in Panama, he indicated that there was a technician over in Costa Rica that needed some help fine tuning a Subaru WRX.  After talking to this tech. in Costa Rica, I decided to give him a hand and try to help his client out.  The Subaru had some mods and there for needed to be fine tuned.

The mods were SF Intake, Downpipe and CBE, STI Pink injectors, FMIC and VF22 turbo.

So with a few iterations on the Cobb Accessportv2 and starting with a stage2 91 octane map, since the fuel in Costa Rica has less octane rating then the pitiful California 91 octane.  That is what was used as a starting point in this remote tune.

Good to have my first remote tune in the country of Costa Rica.  Special thanks goes out to Sebastián owner of InterlinkPZ & to Murruco for trusting in our tuning abilities.

2002 Subaru WRX – Calibration

Got this client a week ago to drop his Subaru WRX to get mapped out, but come to find out there were some issues that needed to be rectified before a single power pull could be administered.

A rear passanger side wheel bearing needed to be fixed, apart from that there were some vacuum lines that were not in the correct order.  After those things were sorted out then we proceded to connect and tune the vehicle via RomRaider.  Specs on the vehicle are as follows:

Fresh JDM ej205, 2004 sti 6 speed transmission, Kinugawa 20G turbo with all the necessary bolt ons.

wrx1 wrx2 wrx3 wrx4

ESensat04STI2 ESensat04STI

Ambient conditions 82F, 66%, 30.03 baro
