2007 Honda Accord turbo – KTuner calibration

2007 Honda Accord turbo – KTuner calibration

This was rather an interesting project that rather landed in our lap. Client came in asking for a tuning solution for his Honda Accord i4 (K24A8) and he wanted to go the route of KTuner. I said sure I can get that for you and tune it.

The car arrived and then to my knowledge it was going to a automatic transmission vehicle that was fitted a TSX turbo kit on to it.

First I had to call the service of Jay to get us the headers on the ecu soldered since that needed to be done on this model ecu before we can even tune the vehicle.  As usual Jay did a bang up job.

While the board was getting installed in the ecu, the tech was going over some of the things that still needed to be done to the set up in order for it to be truly ready to hit the rollers.
410cc RDX injectors were fitted, KTuned fuel rail was also installed and a few other quirky things that were completed before the calibration could begin.

Ambient conditions on the time of the calibration were: 75F, 72% hum. 30.13baro
Runs were made on D3 setting in the transmission.
boost was of the wastegate spring and it maintained at 9psi
We did not know what it was going to do as this sort of combination was rather odd and not something I had seen before.  KTuner software did well to keep the engine steady and make the power it was going to efficiently make.
Was impressed with a car that makes 160hp to the crank and we managed to make 248whp with the boost that was being thrown at it.

Will post the charts shortly.

2013 Honda Accord Sport v6- KTuner

Had the pleasure of once again calibrating a vehicle with a KTuner system.

This time the vehicle that was getting some work done on the dyno was a Honda Accord Sport v6.

In this A/T vehicle the current mods were:

Intake, RV6 exhaust components and KTuner v2

We initially tuned the vehicle back in February, then now the car came back to see if it has gained any more power and the client was just there for current numbers.  As we can not leave things alone and saw some areas in the tune that we could improve on I pulled the laptop out on this warm May day and proceeded to tune the vehicle once again.

Ambient conditions on the day were 78F, 82% humidity and 30.03 baro. Test gear was done in 4th

AS3 AS4 AS2 AS1

Initially back in February we jumped from 243.7whp (baseline)  to 251.5whp with a little bit of tweaking on the Ktuner.  Client came and with a little bit of further tweaking the calibration on this past day we managed to reach the numbers you see on the charts below:

JVasquez13Accord_DD

266whp was the best pull and with a 274wtq numbers on the Dyno Dynamics.

This chart is the numbers using comparison mode which is a feature in which the Dyno Dynamics simulates numbers to what they would appear if a vehicle was tested on a Dyno Jet.

Apart from just numbers the over all driveability was improved since throttle response is by far more crisp and better MPG was also achieved with the KTuner on board.

2015 Honda Accord Sport 2.4L

Got a chance to try out the a new software, KTuner was the weapon of choice this time around. Client came in with his Accord spport, car only had a K&N typhoon CAI and  a set of 20″ wheels

Installed the program and loaded the starting calibration and went ahead and tune the vehicle, the result was a nice increase in over all performance with the WTQ being the protagonist on this show. +9WHP and +30WTQ

Thanks goes out to Andrew for trusting us with his car vehicle.
